Shelf Pre-School is run by a management committee, which has responsibility for the general running of the Pre-School and for staff.
The Pre-School is organised on a day-to-day basis by the Pre-School manager, who reports and liaises with the Committee. All Pre-School policies are documented and copies are available upon request at the above premises.
All recommendations in the new Children’s Act are adhered to, and the Pre-School adopts an open policy. Parents are welcome at any time; their presence, suggestions and help are most appreciated. Any complaints that can not be resolved by the pre-school management team should be written, signed and addressed to the Committee at the pre-school address. It will then be given due consideration and responded to in writing.
The committee also have a say in the purchase of new equipment, the repairing of old equipment, purchasing materials, and special events for the children, from funds raised by the Committee. We hold a number of fund-raising events throughout the year, which we hope you will support. The Committee is therefore very important – without it the Pre-School would cease to function. New Committee members are required each year: We would hope you will consider this involvement.
Shelf Pre-School is run by the pre-school management team and the parents of children from the local communities – if you have any ideas or suggestions, please let us know.
